Disclosure 07.08.08

If you believe only one thing about Platinum Dynasty Wrestling’s weekly event “Disclosure” then believe this: this show is not for children, especially after the events of the July 8th edition which may have a lasting effect on the landscape of the company for a long time to come.

The show kicked off with almost a family feel to it as Angelique and Star Deveraux, sisters separated by some very key issues over the future of the company as it stands, confronted one another in the parking lot where Angel set about attempting to sway Star from the dark side. It seemed, however, that Star was not one to be swayed by pretty words. Backstage and two more families were having a coming together of sorts as Christy Matthews, girlfriend to the PDW Prodigy Champion Pete Ebdon and the newest in a long time of associates to the Pantheon, confronted Blake Selters, the PDW General Manager, with his “family” in tow, namely that of Drake Benjamin. Christy came looking for the GM to sign a rather unique contract, the details of which wouldn’t be revealed until a little later, but it seems that for every favour asked of the GM he has to take one of his own in return, modifying the contract for his own rather unique purposes.

Disclosure was about far more than just the ongoing war of the roster however as the second round of the Platinum Cup finally kicked off with four randomly drawn matches, the first of which pitted two of the three remaining females against one another: Aurora Snow vs. Tatiana Gregorovich. And it was the representative of the Royal Cartel who came out with the victory after several near falls, ending her recent run of bad luck. But rumour has it this could have been the final appearance of Aurora Snow in the role of a competitor. Could it be? We’ll keep you updated. Tatiana’s night didn’t end there though as she was almost immediately confronted by Nicholas Jaxx, with his newest sidekick, former teammate Lucas Knight, in tow. Jaxx offered the young Russian some flowers but for the second week in a row she turned him down, leading Aries – another associate of the Pantheon – to ask the two men if they were sure that she even liked men. Both Jaxx and Knight seemed to be rather excited by the prospect that perhaps she didn’t...

Back in the ring and the PDW Next Big Thing Champion was in action as he took on two competitors in a non-title match and two on miniature undefeated streaks, Drake Benjamin and Christy Matthews. Unfortunately for them however there could only be one who remained undefeated at the end of the night. Before the match however Christy grabbed the microphone with something to say, the contract that she got signed now meant that nobody under PDW contract could lay their hands on her without per prior permission aside from a few exceptions: her boyfriend and a mysterious and as yet unnamed second person along with the three added by Blake Selters: Blake himself, and Drake and Catalina Benjamin. And when the match was over and done with it was Drake Benjamin who picked up the big win, extending his winning streak and ending that of Miss Matthews who failed to break up the pin attempt in time to save her own winning streak.

Swapping to backstage again and a most unexpected arrival made his presence felt: Kindred London! It seems that while he’s been away he was less than impressed with what had happened to PDW, and especially what had happened to Star Deveraux. Swapping back to the ring and the Platinum Cup’s Round 2 continued as Draven took on Rachel Stevens, who’s been on a losing streak as of late. That losing streak was doomed to continue at least another week however as Draven eliminated Rachel from the tournament, and indeed quite possibly from the company, with an injury to her leg. Definitely not the news that young Miss Stevens was looking for. In the back after the match however Draven came face to face with one of the two men he’ll face off against at the pay per view in the form of PDW’s Clown Prince, The Joker. Before long another battle ensued between the rivals that Draven seemed to get the best of.

Swapping to ongoing events however and Kindred London confronted Star Deveraux. Star, it seems however, didn’t want to listen to what her “big brother” had to say. In the ring and the PDW Bloodshed Champion was in action next taking on Joker and newcomer Aldrik Ramsden. Joker and Ramsden exchanged control of the match while leaving Jaxx helpless on the outside of the ring until Draven made his presence felt. After Joker and Draven began to continue their brawl from earlier Jaxx capitalised, hitting his first and only move of the match to score the pin. After the match Joshua Payne, the Pantheon co-founder, made his way to the ring and could only watch helplessly as Steve Jason ambushed and attacked Jaxx, suplexing him off the stage before spitting in Payne’s face and angering the giant. That anger would have increased even more were he to witness his own stablemate, the young Miss Matthews, attempting to convince Star to get Payne to defend his title on that very show against her boyfriend. The PDW Owner declined the idea, leaving Christy somewhat less than happy.

The third and penultimate match of Round 2 was up next as Steve Jason took apart the Kingpin to walk away with a victory. In the back once more and Christy was in trouble once again, this time with her boyfriend who warned her off attempting to screw with Payne any more. Ebdon promised that no matter what happened in the main event that the time wasn’t right for him to get a championship match just yet, and whatever the result at the end of the show after the two co-founders of the Pantheon clashed the main thing was that the Pantheon would live on. In the ring next was arguably the match of the night as PDW Cyber Champion Hannah St. John picked up YET ANOTHER successful championship defence against the two formidable opponents of Giovianni Aries and Dante Gleason Poole. It was Aries who was pinned at the end of the bout after Joseph St. John stopped Poole from re-entering the ring.

Backstage just moments later and Gio was in trouble once again, being laid out by a mysterious assailant. Steve Jason claimed that he had nothing to do with it when questioned by security, but there was nobody in the building who believed his story. Elsewhere and Payne’s night continued to get worse as the Platinum Champion was confronted by Angelique Deveraux who promised to open her sisters eyes to the Platinum Champion before the night was done. She’d do that by naming herself as the guest referee in the main event and, indeed, by playing headgames with Payne throughout the match. The match itself ended somewhat controversially as Payne thought he’d had it won only for Christy Matthews to help out her boyfriend by putting his foot on the ropes. Toni Terror, Payne’s manager, objected allowing Christy to strike once again with a steel chair shot to the head. As Payne staggered backwards Ebdon capitalised with the Ego Cutter for the win, extending his undefeated streak to eight matches without a loss. The night however was too much for Payne who snapped, absolutely destroying Angelique Deveraux in the ring in a manner that shocked even Ebdon. Shortly an all out brawl ensued as the Pantheon were outnumbered and beaten down one by one, including the so-called “Untouchable One” who was beaten down by the only person in the building NOT contracted by PDW – Shara Bapiste.

The end of the night would send shockwaves throughout the company as Star Deveraux cradled her sisters bloodied and broken body in her hands, ordering the returning Mike Ryba to take the Platinum Championship away from Joshua Payne. Rumours have it that after the show went off the air Miss Deveraux had a major announcement about the Platinum Champion: that she was not only stripping him of his title for his actions against her sister but suspending him indefinitely. This, however, has yet to be confirmed by sources within PDW. As soon as it is you’ll hear about it first right here.

Next up for PDW is their next pay per view event, headlined by two undefeated streaks facing off against one another as Pete Ebdon attempts to run the gauntlet against both Drake and Catalina Benjamin. Also in action the Cyber Champion Hannah St John defends her title in a triple threat match, as does the Next Big Thing Champion. The Bloodshed Championship will be defended in a handicap match and still more new faces are set to debut. Should be a hot night in New Jersey!
