- APPLICATION RULES -

[One]
Please read all of these rules thoroughly before filling out an application.

[Two] Be sure to check the restricted list to make sure that your pic base or entrance music is not already in use.

[Three] Your application will be reviewed upon receipt and you will certainly be given a response in no more than 48 hours.

[Four] After being accepted you are required to post an introductory roleplay of at least 50 lines, and unlke your sample, this cannot be something previously written. Once this is done you will be booked and allowed to post your bio. It's purpose is to give you a small introduction to PDW as well as get you booked for your debut match. This helps us weed out applicants who don't actually plan to rp.

[Five] You are not allowed to post in any other section of the Backstage Forum until after you have done your introductory roleplay.

- GENERAL RULES -

[One]
First and foremost, have respect for staff, other members and visitors. PDW has a friendly community that is accepting of everyone if you are accepting of us. If you are found to be deliberately causing trouble of any kind you will be tossed out the PDW community. Keep personal conflicts outside of PDW (especially off the boards).

[Two] The number of characters for matches you are allowed to have in the fed will be based on whether or not the staff think you can handle multiple characters. As far as Character development characters go you can have as many as you like.

[Three] One pic base per person. We don’t share pic bases....unless your character is the twin of someone elses character (which I haven't seen yet but just in case).

[Four] If you come to me (Star) with a pic base change, keep in mind that you may be denied. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not fond of pic base changes. Especially constant ones. Choose your image and stick with it.

[Five] Matches are judged primarily by our judging committee. All match decisions are final.

[Six] All titles must be defended at least once over a period of thirty (30) days unless special circumstances call for more. If a champion is unable to do so for any reason, they will be stripped of their title.

[Seven] All cards are subject to change.

[Eight] Strats are not mandatory, but if you want your wrestler to have the best possible showing it would be wise for you to send them in. It also makes match writing a world easier.

[Nine] PDW is a created character fed only. That goes for all persons. No real wrestlers, actors, rappers, singers, etc.

[Ten] Don't even attempt to come in here with someone else's character. 9 times out of 10 you will be found out.

[Eleven] Using a layout or gfx that you do not have permission to use is strictly prohibited.

[Twelve] Have fun, peeps. It's a game. That's what they're for.

- ROLEPLAYING RULES -

[One] The standard limit for roleplays for Disclosure is one and two for PPV’s but if both you and your opponent agree to a higher limit you BOTH must PM me stating what the limit is.

[Two] Adult content (sex, violence, etc.) is allowed in roleplays but you MUST put a disclaimer at the beginning of your RP and it also must have a purpose. So if you post an RP that is nothing but sex or slicing someone’s head off with absolutely no real and apparent reason behind it…don’t expect to win. If you forget the disclaimer once or twice, that's alright. You won't be crucified. Just reminded to do so next time.

[Three] There is only one roleplay allowed on the day of the deadline. No exceptions.

[Four] The deadline for Disclosure is 11: 59 PM EST on Sunday nights and the deadline for PPV’s is 11:59 PM EST on Saturday nights. No exceptions.

[Five] There will be no recycling of roleplays. We put time and effort into giving you fresh material weekly so we expect you to do the same in return. If you are found out to have recycled a roleplay you will automatically lose your match.

[Six] There is a 50 line RP minimum here in PDW. This isn’t a lot to ask. Please do your best to keep up the standard.

[Seven] You are expected to roleplay for any match you are booked for. If you are unable to do so please be courteous enough to drop us a line. If you no-show a match with absolutely no volunteered excuse (meaning we had to chase you down for it) then you most likely won't be booked again until we hear from you. If you no show two matches in a row you will be removed from the roster.

[Eight] You are not allowed to use anyone else's character in your roleplays without permission. If you do you will be given a warning and the roleplay will be void. Look-a-likes, impersonators and things of that nature, however, are allowed.

[Nine] This goes without saying but I will say it anyway. Plagiarism of any kind will automatically get you terminated from PDW. So please, don’t steal anyone else’s work

- MATCH WRITING -

[One] You must have previously written at least two matches for PDW before you can sign up to write a main event, simply because the main events are generally the most important matches on the card and we would like them written in the best possible fashion. A good example of previous work that we know is yours will help us determine whether or not you can do this.

[Two] You are allowed to write your own match if your opponent has no problem with it or if the two of you are writing it together. It is the opponent's job to check the match writing threads to see who their match writer will be.

[Three] Match assignments (winners, special info, strats) will usually be sent out shortly after the rp deadline or, as far as strats go, upon request if they have already been received.

[Four] Please review other written PDW matches and do your best to stay as true to our format as possible.

[Five] If you are unable to come through with a match, please do not sign up

- SHOW INFORMATION -

[One] After the deadline, mostly for PPV's, there is one day allowed for the show to be put together. This includes match writing, roleplay judging, coding and all else. The show will undoubtedly be put up upon completion, no later than 48 hours after the roleplay deadline.

[Two] Not all submitted segments will be accepted for one reason or another. It could be because the content was unacceptable or it may clash with another segment on the show, etc. No one will be informed of it beforehand but you can ask a staff member about it after the show is posted.

[Three] Permission to attack a fellow superstar is not necessary as long as it is reasonable.

[Four] Very rarely a match decision will be made based on storylines but all parties involved will be notified.

[Five] All administrative staff are handled by members of the fed and you must receive permission to use them in segments.

[Six] As far as angles go, the PDW staff reserve the right to alter them as we see fit to make the shows the best that they can be overall, as well as to create them. Everyone is expected to be actively involved in angles and the PDW staff has the final say in all of them.

- ROLEPLAY SCORING -

20 -Entertainment: Of course this is very important. How well did you keep the reader’s attention? No one is expecting you to reach Stephen King levels of entertainment but what matters is whether or not the reader has the urge to use the scrollbar every five seconds.

10 -Grammar: Not a huge factor but important nonetheless. Spelling, structural and grammatical errors take away from your roleplay. We all make mistakes but the less the better. Take the time out to edit your work.

15 -PDW Relativity: This is how well you keep up with storylines in PDW as well as your matches. Not everyone is prone to turn out eight pages of material on their opponent but you ARE a wrestler employed by Platinum Dynasty Wrestling. We should know that when we read your roleplay. It’s great getting to know about a wrestler’s life outside of the ring but fed relevance should also come into play.

20 -Overall Feel: This is basically the entire mood of your roleplay. How well did all of it come across? Were your scenes and actions detailed just enough to explain exactly what is taking place? How well did you play your character? If they’re an egotistical jackass heel type, we should hate them. If they’re angry or excited or irritated, we should feel that. We should also have some idea of their alignment. We don’t want to see a face character plotting to murder a bunch of school girls and then rape them afterwards. Nice guys don’t do that. Make some sense, please.

And if the roleplay is meant to be funny then it should make us laugh. Thought provoking, make us think, straight up old school promo type, wow us with your wit, so on and so forth. Basically, just be good with whatever style you choose to adapt.

15 -Clarity: If a roleplay is difficult to follow it becomes less enjoyable to read. Complex storylines and scenarios should not be so complex that no one is even sure of what’s going on. The easier to read, the better.

20 - Content: This is basically just everything in the roleplay including the actual flow of it and any creativity you decide to use. If it’s something that everyone’s seen but you do it well, expect to get credit for that. Whatever you write about should have a purpose. If your wrestler is riding through the streets flashing random people or something like that then there should be a clear point as to why they’re doing it. A roleplay full of pointless events is sort of a waste of time.
